The story and narrative within the design process reflect Orry's artistic interests. He wrote stories from a young age, and during his Master's in Interior Architecture at KU Leuven, he discovered the symbiosis between design and story.
Fresh paper, deep black ink, and soft pencils were Orry's favorite tools from an early age. Inspired by the power of form and story, he gave free rein to his creativity. He studied architecture and visual arts as a preparatory course for a master's in interior architecture. Art, story, and architecture formed a language of their own for Orry. He graduated with research into how the narrative can influence the experience and atmosphere in an environment and how this can translate into a design strategy. Through the story, the fragile yet powerful details of spatial and design experience are reinforced in their entirety.
After his studies and internship (with interior architect S. van Compernol), Orry started working in the design furniture world, where he was inspired by renowned designers. His graphic talent organically intertwined with his vision of design. Therefore, he decided to establish his own studio with a focus on high-quality design. Storry's House of Design specializes in designs with meaning, where all elements are meticulously composed into a unique interior, powerful graphics, words that tell a story, and unique objects that speak.
For Orry, the meticulous supervision of every project is a fundamental pillar. The interplay between the client's wishes, the narrative that shapes the space, and the artistic vision forms the core of his approach, with a central focus on the selection of high-quality materials and the refinement of the construction process.
