Something's coming
Storry's is currently working on the design of a modular system, for which Orry Marinx has drawn inspiration from Japanese culture. This piece, dedicated to his brother Ray, a rising star in the judo world, reflects the understated elegance of the Tatami. The proportions exude calm and simplicity, while the warm wood of the repetitive slatwork adds a subtle yet powerful character. The concept has been developed as a modular system that flexibly responds to the specific needs of the user.
De eerste prototypes zijn vervaardigd uit restmateriaal van renovatielatten uit de raamindustrie – een ecologisch verantwoorde manier om het ontwerp op ware grootte te testen. Voor de uiteindelijke versie zullen zorgvuldig gekozen duurzame houtsoorten worden gebruikt, met oog voor de fijnste afwerkingsdetails, om een tijdloos en functioneel meubelstuk te creëren dat zowel eer betoont aan traditie als aan innovatie.
